I’m already really looking forward to the UK ICCCR, so I thought a topic where everyone can tell the world which cars they’re bringing to Yorkshire would be nice.
So, I’ll kick off. I intend to go with the SM, which will by then finally be a 3.0ie biturbo, or my slightly modified CX Gti Turbo VEMS, I haven’t completely decided.

Excellent!
Please be aware that you only pay for 1 vehicle and driver.
If the cars are all owned by the same family, they should registered as “additional vehicles” and are FREE.
The drivers of these vehicles and the non-driving passengers are registered as “Passengers >16”.
My reckoning is:
You and your 1964 DSM are £70
The other half “we” is £10
Son and Girlfriend £10 each (Car Free)
Daughter and Boyfriend £10 each (Car free)
Total £120
If any of the vehicles are not owned by the family, they are £70 for car and driver, so if the AK400 is owned by the Boyfriend, the total would be £120 - £10 + £70 = £180.
Don’t forget that if you are coming over on the Zeebruuge to Hull or Rotterdam to Hull Ferry, P&O are offering a 20% discount to ICCCR attendees who book and pay in 2011. See: http://www.poferries.eu/tourist/content/pages/iccc.html
We are currently in discussion with both Stenna Lines and DFDS to see what discount they will give, but the initial response was “Why should we give you a discount it is the height of the season?”.
We shall persevere!

Mike, I think this should not be in this thread, but a private conversation.
Still, I know, I already registered and payed the entrancefee.
The AK400 is formally owned by me, although my daughter and her friend are using it most of the time.
Thanks for pointing out the discount possibilities for the crossing.
I just looked at their site. Is it only possible to come over in August with ICCCR-discount? Because if I want to book in July, the date chages automatically to August.

I’ll be coming (with my wife) in our DS20 Pallas.
Looking forward to a holiday in Yorkshire, 10 years after we moved from Harrogate to London.
Graham,
Given that you are from Harrogate, I’m sure that the forum would appreciate your advice on where to eat, drink, see and stay…..

Mick,
I’m flattered by your confidence in my knowledge. The problem is, it is now 10 years since I lived there, and when I lived there, I never used any of the many accommodation options. My wife and I will be using a combination of staying with a couple of our friends in north Leeds and camping on site.
However, this is what I can remember:
Hotels: Fiction fans might want to look at “the Old Swan” which was the hotel Agatha Christie stayed in during her “disappearance” in 1926. Other hotels that I’ve heard good things about are the Crown, and Hotel Du Vin. The Holiday Inn is a safe choice as well.
My favourite restaurant when I lived there has since been at the centre of a work permit scandal, but I hear the food (indian) is still very good. It is the Rajput. Also for curry fans, Jinnah has an excellent reputation.
There are loads of pubs in and around the town, and I’m sure I could be persuaded to lead a drive out to one or two of them one day during the rally, should you wish - probably either the Devonshire Arms with a visit to Bolton Abbey, or out to Aysgarth Falls and a pub in Wensleydale (which is my favourite of the Yorkshire Dales).
If you really want to eat well, “The box Tree” in Ilkley.
Otherwise, a fair few good one in York also.
Graham,
I’ll take you up on that offer of leading a visit to the Devonshire arms, Aysgarth and Wesleydale….
Regards
mick
Tinker,
Isn’t the Box tree a 1* Michelin…. with a 4 week wait list?
Regards
Mick
Not sure of waiting list, but August is more than 4 weeks away anyway
It used to have 2 stars, but now “only” has the one yes.
The Devonshirearms is a good call, but in my opinion way too expensive for what it offers (might have changed, but I doubt it)
Better get booked then!

Yes, and it does French food, so stays with the theme
I must admit, that since I now live in France, I am not going to go to the UK to eat French (and I live in the South West which is the best place for good food!) - I’ll go to my old stamping ground in York, and Leeds.
Regards,
Jeremy.
